Our Chance To Be Part Of History

Dear Friends and Residents of the Costa Rica Sims,

It is our chance to become a part of history!  As most of you know, Costa Rica is known for it’s natural beauty found throughout the country, especially within the many national parks.  However, one of Costa Rica’s biggest treasures is a unique island paradise that lies 532 kilometers southeast of Puntarenas.

La Isla del Coco, or Cocos Island, has been referred to as, “The Most Beautiful Island in the World,” by the famous Jaques Cousteau.  Now, we have the chance to make history by having it inducted into the New Seven Wonders of Nature Campaign, but we need your help.

Due to its size, its isolation and its preservation, Cocos Island is one of the privileged natural sites worldwide, considered the largest uninhabited Island on Earth. Therefore, the Government of Costa Rica created the Cocos Island National Park in 1978. For the same reasons of exceptionality, in 1997 the Organization of the United Nations for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) declared the island Natural Patrimony of Humanity.

Last year Costa Rica submitted the Cocos Islands as our entry to the New Seven Wonders of Nature Campaign, a great honor for our Country, and now have the opportunity to share with you all the beauty of Costa Rica.  Some of you have had glimpses into this treasure of Earth through the Jurassic Park movie, which housed all of the dinosaurs that roamed the Earth long after their extinction.  Our exciting news doesn’t end there!  We are proud to announce that the Cocos Islands have been built in Second Life so that we can share the beauty of our nation within the Virtual World.

When I learned that the Ministry of Tourism of Costa Rica was bringing the Cocos Island to Second life, I was very excited to see a government institution participating in this great virtual world of ours.  My excitement continued to grow when I found out that they had commissioned none other than Mr. Lester Nefarious of Advanced Virtual Inc. to develop the project.  Many of you may recognize his name, having seen his work around Second Life with projects that include (not only) the Visit Mexico Sims.

After Visiting the virtual representation of the Cocos Island for the first time in Second Life after it opened a few weeks ago, I decided to contact Lester.  First, to thank him as a native of Costa Rica, for creating one of the most (if not the most) beautiful island in Second Life.  I also wanted to express my interest in helping to promote this amazing project, by offering Lester the opportunity to move Cocos Island next to the Costa Rica Sims.  This not only allows for the Costa Rica Sims to have it featured as one of our fabulous attractions around the Estate, but also to promote awareness of the New 7 Wonders of Nature Project and it’s voting process.

In order for us to realize our dream of having the Cocos Island become one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, we need your votes!  This process will only take a few minutes of your time, and you will have your chance at helping one of the most beautiful places on Earth become recognized world wide as one of the Seven Wonders of Nature.  We ask that you take the time, while having your morning coffee or any other time when you’ve got a few spare moments, to visit then just click on the following link to learn more about Cocos Island and vote for it to become one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

The Costa Rica Sims is also proud to announce that you now have a chance to explore this island as part of our estate.  Just take your boat off of the slip and travel through Pacifico Central 11 and Oceano Pacifico head west to reach the island.  You can also TP directly using this SLurl if you don’t wish to take the scenic route.  I promise you, you will fall in love with this masterpiece as much as the rest of us.

Let us all work together in making Cocos Island one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, and show how thankful and proud we are to have this beautiful project here in Second Life and as part of our beautiful Estate.

On behalf of all the residents and friends of the Costa Rica Sims, I would like to thank the people of the Costa Rica Ministry of Tourism ICT, The Friends of the Cocos Island Foundation FAICO, and Mr. Lester Nefarious of Advanced Virtual Inc and his team for trusting our estate with this beautiful project.

Love & Light,

Gian
