THE COSTA RICA SIMS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH RUNWAY PRODUCTIONS

December 12, 2008—Today, Giancarlo Takacs, CEO of the Costa Rica Sims Estate, and Maggie Mahoney, CEO of RUNWAY Magazine and RUNWAY Productions, announced a partnership that will bring an unprecedented level of professionalism and excellence to the world of event management and promotion in Second Life®.

RUNWAY Productions will produce monthly fashion events in the Costa Rica Sims showcasing the many designers and stores located in the Estate's shopping district, home to some of SL’s® top designers and the flagship store locations for Jeepers Creepers, Emery, and a.C.Store.

"Since its inception, RUNWAY has been a leading voice in the world of fashion, design, and glamour in Second Life®. The work of Maggie Mahoney and her partner Ocean Bates, who we are fortunate enough to call fellow residents of the Costa Rica Sims, is truly an inspiration. I have long looked to them as prime examples of what it takes to bring to life creations that have lasting value and impact. The collaboration with the Costa Rica Sims, which is known for its beauty, elegance, and dedication to providing the best Second Life® experience for its residents, came naturally. I believe both organizations provide experienced management skills, a keen understanding of how to be successful, and a track record of exceeding expectations. With our newly acquired full region (sim) dedicated exclusively for events, I envision not only changes in the fashion world, but also changes expanding to the execution of  large scale private and public gatherings, making this the model for others to follow," says Mr. Takacs.

Ms. Mahoney offered, "Ocean and I made our home in the Costa Rica Sims earlier this year, and we could not have found a more serene place to enjoy peaceful moments.  Being able to take that relationship with Giancarlo and the Costa Rica Sims community to the next level and feature the design talent within the Costa Rica Sims is a crowning moment for RUNWAY.  We welcome the opportunity to work with the Costa Rica Sim Merchants and Executive Team to bring spectacular fashion showcases."

These shows will be scheduled for the 3rd Saturday each month at 12:00 Noon SLT on a new runway to be designed and built in the architectural style of the shopping district.  In addition, the Costa Rica Sims' own DJ Azu Catteneo will arrange the music and commentate each show.

"The first fashion show will be held on Saturday, December 27th and will be a Best of 2008 Designer showcase," states Ms. Mahoney.  It is sure to be a wonderful recap of some amazing designs seen throughout the year on catwalks all over SL®. And, I am sure there will be several special gowns for that all important New Year’s Eve party.
