Costa Rica Productions - House of Beningborough Designer Showcase

Hello everyone

Last week CRS Productions was honoured to present the wonderful designs of the House of Beningborough by Bliss Beningborough.  If you were not able to attend the showcase or just want to see the magnificent haute couture that was on show once again, then here is a recap for you:

The evening was hosted by Brendan Macarthur, Director of CRSP,

along with DJ Marley D who made the music happen.

The atmosphere was suitably convivial and the champagne was flowing as everyone seated themselves in anticipation of the show to come.

First up was Mely wearing Minerva in white. Wild plumes fan out all over in a spectacular fashion. The lacy bodysuit features a lovely peak at the top and pearlescent strands holding it all together. Cascades of feathers trail down around her body, from her shoulders into a gorgeous skirt.  She wore a magnificent headpiece that curled around her face and has a shower of metallic beams shooting up from her crown.

Looking ever so couture was Baila wearing Ricochet. The cropped jacket has a stained glass design that flatters the angular collar. Puffed sleeves add a high-fashioned harlequin vibe to the jacket. An optional bodysuit has a chevron pattern with an alternating mesh and solid color design that reveals slivers of skin. Her harem-style shorts are enraptured by bands of silver and whimsical curlicues on the sides. This ensemble comes complete with a matching bracelet and hat set that has quirky swirls and twists for a funky touch.

Dazzling us in the Barbarella set was Hillie. With two options for wear, this vibrant combination bursts with a bright fuchsia color that contrasts beautifully with the demure black. The structured wrap contorts into waves of elegance, dramatically encasing her in satin folds.  The sweetheart neckline of the strapless top shows off her slender shoulders and melds seamlessly into the silky mermaid skirt. Millions of tiny butterflies swarm around her body, hovering about her like sweet perfume.   For a more casual look she can remove the skirt and wear the skin tight leggings for a chic outfit that works anywhere.

Kalyabreeaa wore the Floral Mesh Dress, a trendy casual dress that is a must-have. The form-fitting mini comes in 3 different patterns, all featuring hand painted flowers that caress her body in an artistic manner.  Available in 2 sizes, the mesh material moves seamlessly with her body, adding a realistic smoothness that flatters her figure.

Laetitia wore the pale pink version of Ricochet. Silver and pink intermingle in an art deco pattern on her cropped jacket and harem shorts.  Sharp twists coil themselves around each other, forming an eccentric hat that makes for a couture conversation piece. She looks sophisticated with and without the optional bodysuit.

The sheer blouse has a leopard print that purrs with sensuality. The frilly collar and cap sleeves bring a girly touch to the blouse which has an optional sculpt attachment for added realism. The solid shirt pockets keep the feminine mystique, keeping them chic without exposing too much. The low-rise leggings are made of supple leather that caresses their curves. Zippered pockets give them just the right amount of edge for a rocking club look.

Amping up the wow factor, Mely Gibbs and Baila Palmira  returned to the runway.

Mely was a vision in red wearing the Titania gown. This breath taking mermaid dress envelopes her body in deep crimson leaves. The plunging neckline elongates her frame with the aid of a dramatically high collar. Wispy cuffs dangle from her wrists with more leaves, adding glamour and allure to the long sleeves. The mermaid skirt trails behind in a luxurious train that will have jaws dropping. The coquettish placement of each piece over her body titillates the senses, offering an eyeful in a demure and tasteful fashion.

In the Nightshade gown, was Baila. She captures attention in this dark emerald gown. A feather covers the other half of the one-shouldered top for a burlesque impression.  A crown of plumes sprays out from the floral headpiece she wears. Scores of bottle green flowers trail down from her shoulder and wrap around the entire length of the gown. Enveloped in evergreen luxury, she is the epitome of class and grace in this posh gown that flatters her curvaceous frame.

Hillie wore the Fall Fire ensemble, capturing all the colors of autumn in her gown. Leaves of orange and vermillion make for a vibrant jacket. A sunset-colored leaf adorns her head with a pair of earrings to match. Fields of color shoot out from the skirt, swaying gently along as she walks like a fall breeze.

Kalyabreeaa dazzled in the golden Fantail gown.  Metallic waves of silver and gold fan about her in a glorious cape. Rubies adorn her chest and shoulders for touches of glamour. Her hat twists up for a sparkling swirl of loveliness. Tiers of gilded plumes trickle down upon each other for a ravishing skirt that is a feast for the eyes.

Looking ever so festive coming down the catwalk was none other than Laurelrose and Leena.

Laurelrose wore the Fantail gown, swathed in swoops of azure. She resembles a peacock with a decadent fan billowing behind her. Her top mimics this motif with gold accents and sapphire stones embedded in her choker and fascinator. Flourishes of light blue peek out from the sea of azure, giving the impression of sunlight reflecting off water. Sprays of ocean swish back and forth as she glides along.

Leena dazzled in the Flower Garden gown. Rich in autumn hues, she glows with effervescent as the giant petals of her cape encase her. The draped top appears to melt off her body like caramel. Brilliant flames lap around her in the skirt, the fiery colors engulfing her as she walks. Golden flowers soften her look with a touch of femininity upon her shoulder and waist. She tops it all off with a couture headpiece that coils up towards the heavens.

In the Lucrezia gown was Baila. She looks absolutely stunning in an open-cut halter with diamond patterns. A gorgeous white flower rests on her shoulder for romantic flair. The mermaid skirt flows out into a glorious train behind her. Cut outs on her hips draw attention to her waist with lace details flattering her slender waist. The lace collar matches the demure veil covering her face. She is a breath taking vision to behold.

Hillie revved up the energy in Symphony. The edgy jacket has high shoulders that complement her collar. Frills rain down the front of the jacket for a Victorian vibe. The bell sleeves give the look drama and flair, accentuating the tapered point of the jacket. Buttons run down the front for a militaristic touch. Her pants are studded in a rocking design with draped panels on the thighs. Patterned cut outs on the calves add just enough funk for this look to work for the fiercest fashionista.

Kalyabreeaa wore the jade color of Lucrezia, which is a very flattering tone on her. The deep blue-green hues mingle in a marriage of beauty with the ivory highlights of the fabric. The detachable flowers on the shoulder yield a soft romance. She looks ever so demure in the lace veil cloaking her face in mystique.

Laetitia impresses onlookers in Heavenly. This garment lives up to its name in golden swirls traveling down her body. This ravishing design features a black velvet panel topped with gilded and bejewelled flourishes along her bust line and shoulder. The mesh material melds seamlessly with the flexi train for a divine dress that moves with you.

Laurelrose was dressed to the nines in the Ola gown. The bold cerise gown allows her to look girly and sophisticated with a gorgeous bird covering her chest. The lovely creature's wings spread across her waist for a flattering line.  The pearl-studded gloves are made of a supple suede material. Feathers adorn the smooth silk fabric for a truly exotic look.

Leena enchanted all who gazed upon her in the black version of Lucrezia. Combining the allure of a dominatrix with subtle seduction, silver diamonds surrounded by pearls run through the fabric. Black lace holds an air of mystery in the choker and veil she wears. Misty flowers on her shoulders add a luxurious note to her dark attire.

Continuing the love vibe was Mely wearing Fantail in cherry.  Art deco-style wings spread out in a brilliant fushia fan behind her. Pink highlights brighten up this beautiful mermaid gown. Scales spill out from her hip, cascading into a waterfall of color in the train of her dress. Light pink stones bedazzle the gold accents on her top and headdress.  When worn without the extravagant cape, we can see the back has an open design with a delicate chain for a sultry surprise.

Going from romance to decadence, was Latrelly in the Sudevi dress. Covered in head to toe lace, she plays peekaboo in strategically placed cutouts. The halter style amps up the sexy factor with a ruffled collar and slinky form. Nets of luminescence surround her in an ethereal glow. She appears alien in nature with rings atop her head in a crown.  The mask adds an element of mystery.

We welcomed back Baila and Hillie as they wowed us in the next dresses.

Baila wears Ola in lilac, a stark contrast to what we saw earlier. A magnificent bird adorns her chest, exposing just enough skin to titillate the senses. Rich purple and smoky blue tones blend together, dancing in the glorious leaves that fall down her skirt.

Hillie wore Adorn Me, showcasing a bejewelled butterfly pressed against a jade green background. The silky textures are enhanced in the mesh material of the dress, hugging every curve of her hourglass frame.

Kalyabreeaa Capelo mixed it up in the Zebra Batwing Mesh dress.  This vintage throwback recalls the decadent 70's in its flowy sleeves. Simple bows decorate her hip and neckline, adding feminine appeal to the ferocious frock. The flirtatious mini is offset by the arched shoulders for a hip look that will turn heads on the scene.

Bringing some Avant Garde delights to the party were Laetitia and Laurelrose.

Wearing Voltaire, Laetitia is an enigmatic wonder to behold. This quirky number features a sheer bodysuit with solid grey appliques. Shiny onyx swirls make up the bubble skirt. Her hat is a series of coils entwined into a smokestack shape.

Laurelrose wears the Sabine gown. An exotic pattern glimmers in the light with notes of silver and black. The off-the-shoulder top makes her look glamourous with small trails ribboning off.  A showy bustle fans out into feathery plumes, matching the chic fascinator on her head.

Leena and Latrelly embraced the color blue in these next dresses.

Leena looked incredible in the Adorn Me gown in blue enamel. The phenomenal dress is swath in lush cyan tones with ornamental flourishes in the fabric. Peacock-colored ruffles lay over her shoulder, caressing the strapless top. She appears seamless as she struts thanks the wonderful mesh material.

Latrelly wore The Heavenly Mesh Dress From Bliss's new Mesh Collection,  This lovely Yellow with golden hues gives the most amazing movement due to the cutting edge revolution of mesh fashion. Laterelly is a true angel in this masterpiece and certainly destined for Heaven,

Returning to our stage was none other than the current reigning Miss Costa Rica Sims......Laetitia Vella !!!

Laetitia lights up the night in the extravagant Barbarella gown. Metallic wings fan over her shoulders in the silky wrap.  Her strapless top shows off her delicate skin, showing off her Miss Costa Ric Sims jewellery perfectly. For formal nights out, she can choose to go regal in a floor-length mermaid gown with liquid black textures flowing down. If she attends an after party, she scales it back in a more casual outfit with a pair of tight leggings. Whether it's the red carpet or a fancy soiree, she is sure to grab the spotlight.

This concluded the House of Beningborough Show presented by Costa Rica Sims Productions.

Costa Rica Sims Influentials May 2012... with Lanai Jarrico

As our latest Influential Lanai Jarrico is the perfect choice to represent those who have contributed something special to Sl. She is the consummate businesswoman, being efficient, business-like and organised, yet as I was to discover also friendly, engaging and extremely helpful. She’s also a Princess. I would say that title fits her quite well, being level headed, down to earth, willing to help people and with an ability to be able to talk to all on sundry without sounding patronising or condescending, these are of course all the best attributes of a Princess and Lanai is certainly possessed of all of them. She also has an aura of calm, one gets the feeling that while all those around her are losing their heads (not of course because she’s ordered that they be lopped off) that she is never in any danger of losing hers. Like most Princess she has an incredibly busy schedule, but I managed to catch up with her and enquire a little more about her sl life.

alt

What bought you to sl initially?
Back in 2005, I was contacted by filmmakers from Paris, France. They were already members of the Second Life community working on a documentary about people who are involved in the virtual worlds. They heard about The TSO Enquirer, created an account in The Sims Online and looked me up. Within a month, they flew to Pennsylvania and we worked on the project. While the filmmakers were here they asked me to join Second Life and cover news there. At first, I turned the offer down because friends that were migrating to other games told me it was an adult x-rated type of role playing game. After a few months, I decided to give Second Life a second look and migrated here with some friends. The rest is pretty much history.

What gave you the idea for the business and how did you go about bringing the idea to life?
The idea to report news in a virtual world came to me one day. I used to sit around a bubble machine with my little circle of friends, we would just hang out and talk about all sorts of things. I was fascinated by the unique opportunity to meet people from all over the world in a place where we could gather in the same virtual room. I soon realized along with making friends there was also this nasty thing called “Drama” and people seemed to thrive on it in certain communities such as Mafia role-play. The Sims Online was home to many of these types of families and often they were at war with each other. I began reporting mafia news and soon TSO became the bridge of communication between these groups. Before I knew it, viral advertising did its job and catapulted my little random newspaper into a popular news source in the city of Blazing Falls.

What are the difficulties you face running a magazine on sl?
The difficulties I face is the shortage of experienced journalists and business professionals that are able to put in the work required. Often times it is a time zone issue and other times it is the availability. I think it’s fair to say, many businesses have experienced those setbacks. Google Documents has been a great tool for managing The SL Enquirer. It allows me to work around those issues in a more efficient way.

alt

What’s been your proudest moment so far?
I have had a few proud moments. The first was in 2006 when my avatar was featured in the 13 Most Beautiful Avatars exhibit in New York City, Switzerland and Italy. It was the first time my family and friends realized what I do in the virtual world is more than just a game to me. Since then being mentioned in rl and SL magazines, educational material, books, virtual world news sources and receiving awards make me proud. It has been one big unexpected adventure that even helped me tremendously through college and even landed me a job as a professional fashion blogger for a major embroidery company.

How do you think the magazine has influenced fashion in sl?
The SL Enquirer isn’t a magazine because we do not have an in world distribution. It can be accessed by visiting www.slenquirer.com.I like to think of it as a virtual local paper. SLE doesn’t focus on just one subject. However, we do have a fashion section and when events happen, we have writers that cover that. I think SLE influences fashion by giving exposure to those at understand the importance of building a good reputation and a positive relationship with the top media sources available the grid. It’s not what you know, but who you know in the virtual world. SLE alone can reach out to over 15,000 a month and can easily put a brand or designer on the map by using our networks.

What benefits do you have from having a business in Costa Rica?
The benefit of having a business in Costa Rica is the reputation of these sims. I have been a resident on CRS for about 2 years now. It is the longest that I have been settled into one place without any hassles from management or griefers running amuck. I also like that I can have a skybox for a more private work environment.

What do you enjoy about Costa Rica?
I think Costa Rica is beautiful and a great place to explore. It embraces nature and cultural diversity. Many respectable businesses call Costa Rica home and so do many residents that live on private estates.

How did you pick the theme for your party?
I don’t throw parties very often but when I do, I love to do unique themes.(omg , I sound like the Dos Equis guy lol) Once a year I have a pajama party and invite friends and fans of SLE to join me for a gathering in a giant skybox replica of my bedroom. Another one I like to host every year is the Super Heroes and Sidekicks costume party. It is great to see avatars participating in these events, we always have a blast. Besides that, SLE sponsors the Black Soul Rhythms Radio themed party hosted by DJ Marjorie Dibou and Charity Richez. It happens at SLE’s Chill lounge located on the top floor of the media center. This party is scheduled for every first Tuesday of the Month from 7-9pm slt. The themes are always something different. I would suggest following us on our website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, LinkedIn, Moolto or any other social network or blog that you use. and find us on. A Spotlight Feature and 1 month advertising is given away at every party. Not to mention, we like to make it rain Lindens.

How does it feel to be an interviewee and not an Interviewer for a change?
It’s an interesting experience being on the opposite end of an interview because I’m used to asking the question. I think it is nice to be able to share my experience in virtual worlds with others. My hopes are that what I do helps people realize their talents and goals in Second Life. With hard work and determination, it can open doors to many unexpected things.

Finally..tell me all about being a secret Princess..unless of course its a secret!
You must be referring to the Royal Secret Society. We are a group of Princes and Princesses that live our Second Life’s by a code. Those who stray from it are removed from HRH Prince Sonoda’s royal court. Our mission is to be a positive force in an anonymous way. My role as a Princess is to uphold the reputation and integrity of the Royal Secret Society. That is all I can say about that.
