Hello Costa Rica Sims Residents,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the following news.

Gian asked me recently if i would be interested in taking over the building classes and designing, delivering a building class specifically for our residents. We discused this at length and I said that if I was going to hold these classes i would like them to be fun and the content relevant to our Costa Rica Homes.

From a Prim to a …

In Second Life®, if you can imagine it, you can build it...

Learn the basics of building in SL™, even if you've never rezzed a prim before. I’ll show you how to master the Build Tool Interface including how to rez prims, link, unlink, copy, texture, colour, resizes and cut and show you shortcuts. You’ll be making your ideas a SL™ reality in just a few weeks.

Classes start: Saturday January 9th 2010 and then each Saturday for the next 12 weeks. 11am – 13pm SLT

Beginners

Each week you'll take home something you made in class.

• Week 1: January 9th. The Build Tool Interface: Familiarise yourself with the build tool while making some household items for your Costa Rica home.
  
• Week 2: January 16th. Simple Furniture: Make our own furniture, sideboards, wardrobes and shelves.
  
• Week 3: January 23rd. The Directors Chair: You will be making a directors chair, complete with sit poses … just like Spielberg’s!
  
• Week 4: January 30th. Getting Cozy: Sofa so good!! Make a sofa with sit poses then get clever and add Sculpted Cushions
  
• Week 5: February 6th. Beach House: Something special for Costa Rica, a little beach hideaway for two
  

Time to reflect - Catch Up

• Week 6: February 13th. Catch Up / Practice / Review:  A chance for you to ask questions and review our newly learnt building skills.
  

Intermediate

• Week 7: February 20th. I see the light:  Make a lamp that switches on and off
  
• Week 8: February 27th. Lets go to bed: Your own bed complete with cuddle animations.
  
• Week 9: March 6th. We are sailing:  Sail around Costa Rica in your own boat …gotta get this right or you’ll drown!
  
• Week 10: March 13th. Coming home: Why buy a house when we can now make our own?
  
• Week 11: March 20th. It’s sooo smooth: Make your own sculpties

• Week 12: March 27th. Catch Up / Practice / Review: A chance for you to ask questions and review our newly learnt building skills
  

Again, the course will begin on January 9th 2010 at 11:00 AM SLT, and is designed to take a beginner through to intermediate level, with some more advanced techniques looked at towards the end. There will be room for 12 pupils and the Course will last 12 weeks in total.
