Motion capture has long since changed the way dance animations work in Second Life literally transforming avatar movement and adding a welcome dose of realism to our pixelated selves. The new male AO from designer Antosperandeo Allen of Body Behavior for BAIASTICE joins in this revolution with motion capture animations.
I decided to take it on a run-through around Costa Rica's commercial district. I discovered that the animations were smooth and natural, with a fluidity I've not seen in other AOs. There are up to 20 standing animations (depending on which set you get), four walks, two ground sits, two sits, fly and jump cycles. Honorable mention goes to the very jaunty run. ;)
These stands are not for the type of person who likes to sit still or if you're going for the strong, silent type. You will be active as there is much moving sideways, walking back and forth and looking back over your shoulder. Since I can't sit still long enough even to watch a movie, it suits me just fine.
To suit all budgets there is an AO with 10 stands for 800L and another with 20 stands for 1600L. This AO is powered with ZHAO 2 AO scripts and the menu comes with the usual gizmos. Random/Sequential cycling, Stand time, Walks, Sit override. If you like to make your own AOs you can get all of these animations at the Body Behavior store at the BAIASTICE sim for 120L each to make it truly unique. While there, check out the male static pose packs, a total of 40 if you get both sets at 600L each.
To show off these animations I made a short video of a few of the them for you. Enjoy!
