May Designer's Showcase Fashion Show: Baiastice

The Designer's Showcase fashion event for May of 2009 had many firsts for the Costa Rica Sims.  This was the first collaboration with MAD Agency, who produced the show for the estate.  It was also our first show for Italian couturier Sissy Pessoa's "Baiastice" label.  Miss Pessoa was also the first to build us a scale model of what she wanted for her production, and this was the first time I have built a venue for a MAD Agency event.  This was the first time there were two shows, at 10:30 and 12:00 noon SLT, and both shows were capacity events.  It was also the first time one of our shows was recorded on video.  TommyLee Nightfire made a movie of it, so check with him if you are curious to see how it turned out.

Sissy Pessoa's stage concept called for clean, simple, spare lines, and I created the rest of the building to go with that concept.  The final look provided the perfect backdrop for her collection, and the elegant simplicty of the architecture was the ideal foil for the sophisticated exhuberance of her collection.

Modeling in the show were Risa Bright, Poptart Lilliehook, Liane Maertens, Fann Hyun, and Lullee Babenco.  Here, Liane showed us "Nautica In Lilac", an ensemble which epitomizes the Baiastice brand.  Refined, feminine, demure, modern, yet passionate and playful.  From head to toe, Miss Pessoa presented the total look--even the skin.

Poptart Lilliehook showed us that Baiastice isn't always what Mrs. Rousselot calls "Royal Ascot Attire."  Miss Pessoa's interpretation of everyday casual wear was a little bit glam rocker and a little bit flower power.  Spring colors of blue, pink, and yellow were combined in an unexpected, and memorable, way.

Showing her infinite talent for producing various looks, Miss Pessoa's spring collection also included looks that were dressier than jeans, but less formal than her gowns.

Spring colors in unique hues, and fabrics with unique patterns, created a collection with an amazing range.

The models did an excellent job of presenting the clothes, and Maddox DuPont MC'd the event.  Risa Bright coordinated the event, and all these elements combined to create a quality show that is the trademark of MAD Agency.

After the second show, the crowd stuck around to SLelebrate with a little after party.  Our own resident DJ Azu provided the music, and Miss Pessoa joined us and let us get to know the artist behind the creations.

Baiastice shows are always a must-see, and this one drew both men and women from all corners of the grid.  The fashions are only for ladies, however, and are available at the Baiastice boutique located at the Costa Rica Sims Plaza Colonial Commerical District.
