Ladies Society Launch New Tradition

The Costa Rica Sims Ladies Society began a fantastic new tradition last weekend, with the celebratory party honoring Jan Santamaria.  It was a fantastic party, with great music, fun with friends, and honoring a real life hero of Costa Rica.
Beginning this weekend, the Ladies Society launched the first of four events to be held each year that coincide with real life holidays celebrated within the fantastic country of Costa Rica.  Dozens of Costa Rica Sims Residents gathered on the event sim, baring witness to this fantastic new tradition in the midst of another amazing build by Costa Rica Sims Executive and Estate Manager Rawly Rousselot.  DJ Azu, Costa Rica Sims’ Number One DJ, provided and endless party of fantastic music and hypnotic beats as residents and friends laughed and partied taking time to enjoy one another as well as honor a national hero.
The main event of the weekend was the unveiling of the true to life statue that had been sculpted to honor Juan Santamaria.  The likeness of the real statue of Juan Santamaria was captured in every detail by the widely known Second Life artist, Ub Yifu.  Rising with honor from the middle of the square, this historic art piece is a new addition to the Costa Rica Sims, bringing even more reason to fall in love with such an abundantly cultural environment and fantastic community.

History tells many tales of heroes, yet there are not nearly as many that celebrate such a fantastic brave soul as Juan Santamaria.  Born in Alajuela, this national hero is remembered for his unyielding bravery after he volunteered to burn down the fort of would be invaders of Costa Rica, who sought to oppress the Costa Rican People.  In 1891, he was recognized for his heroic deed, marking a day of remembrance for his deeds.   If you’d like to learn more about Juan Santamaria, we encourage you all to do a little research about this heroic man.

Hasta Laproxima!
