It was a busy weekend, here at the Costa Rica Sims, and it all started with a bang on Saturday, with the annual Costa Rica Designer’s Showcase produced by RUNWAY Productions. Residents and friends gathered on the Event Sim, arriving deep into the staged streets of an industrial district, where Rawly Rousselot had outdone himself with yet another amazing build. Fashioned to look as though it was straight out of industrial warehouse district, this gritty scene was perfect for the featured designers of the showcase. Premiering their new items, Weird Monkey Designs (WMD) and JuJu’s closet.

As the smoke billowed out from the barrels, contributing to the ambience of the afternoon, a seagull circled overhead and the people who had gathered waited with baited breath to see the feast of fashion that was sure to strut down the runway. Lopsided pallets coupled together to make up the runway leaving Maggie Mahoney (Seen pictured in the pink jacket above), CEO of RUNWAY Productions and Costa Rica Resident, to put the finishing touches and last minute directions before the models took center stage.

It was a casual affair, with something for everyone. Fabulous new designs littered the runway, paired with some of the more popular looks that have been staples in the WMD and JuJu’s Closet stores for quite some time. The models were exquisitely styled, while showcasing the fine fashions that are available in two of the many stores of our Commercial District.

Here, we see Clyde Saunders, Costa Rica Resident and Model, posing his heart out in the Preppy Maddox. Named after CEO and Co-Owner of KMADD, as well as another fantastic resident of the Costa Rica Sims, Maddox was the inspiration for this argyle sweater set.

Another great look featured during the show, was featured by Poptart Lilliehook. This great look for the spring was the perfect combination for the sunny Saturday afternoon that bathed the dank alley with the spectacular Costa Rica Sun. In this picture, Poptart wears the PowerdotsG baby doll from JuJu’s closet and the In the Army Now jeans from WMD.

It wasn’t just casual outerwear that was featured today, but a great new corset set too! You can see the rich satin color of this fantastically sexy ensemble shown by Tiffany. Named the Madelina corset, from Juju’s Closet, this sultry design is built to amplify the subtle curves of a woman’s frame.

All in all it was a fabulous showcase performed by RUNWAY Production and their fantastic models. I know I can’t wait until next month, to see what they will bring to us then! Don’t forget, each month on the third Saturday of the month, RUNWAY Productions features the amazing designs from our Commercial District. If you’re looking for something to do, or want to see some of the hottest trends in today’s fashion, don’t miss out on the next showcase! We’ll see you then!
Hasta La Proxima!
