Hello Residents, Friends, and Merchants!

 
January capped off another exciting month in the Costa Rica Sims with plenty of new faces in our community and a few changes to the Estate.
 
Changes to the Executive Team
 
HarMonica Aabye
 
This month our dear friend and long-time member of the Executive Team, HarMonica Aabye, resigned her post on the team to focus on other ventures and devote more time to her real life. From her amazing management of our Miss Costa Rica Sims Pageant to the countless hours she spent working with designers in our shopping district, we owe so much of what we have come to love about our community to HarMonica. She will always be a friend of the Costa Rica Sims and will be dearly missed.
 
Olyvia Zenoka
 
With one departure from the Executive Team, we in turn welcome a new member, Olyvia Zenovka. She is a top model, assistant manager for LeeZu, and also a manager for LionSkins. Olyvia will be our Estate Journalist, covering all events that happen in our Estate. Her first posting is already up on our Events tab, so please take a few moments to read her column and give her a warm Costa Rican welcome. Finally, she will also be creating a new fashion blog for us that promises to become one of the very best our community has ever seen.
 
Events
 
Rezz Day Party
 
We once again had a fantastic Rezz Day party for residents with rezz days in January. With a carnival theme that included a rollercoaster, a whirling Ferris wheel, and a wild fun house, the party allowed residents to have a great time along the boardwalk and take in some exciting rides. This was yet another example of the many events that the Estate creates to provide residents with an opportunity to get to know one another and be apart of the community. As I heard from the members of the Executive Team who spoke with some residents, it can be a challenge to create new friendships in SL. I would like to take this moment to remind us all how important it is to attend events like this one since it provides experiences and activities for everyone to develop and deepen relationships in our community. So be sure to make attending a priority if you are interested in getting to know
 others and expanding your social networks.
 
 
Monthly Fashion Show
 
We are continuing to work hard with RUNWAY Productions to bring residents the best the fashion world has to offer. To date, this collaboration has been one of the greatest successes for our Estate, bringing excellent exposure and socializing opportunities for those in attendance. February promises to raise some eyebrows and be our hottest fashion show yet. We will be showcasing casualwear, swimwear, and underwear by American Beauty, Get Butch, and Vitamen, so make sure to attend and bring a fan, because you are guaranteed to sweat at this one. Once again, this is another one of the events that the Estate creates so residents can become more a part of the community, so please make it a priority to be there if you are interesting in meeting new people and further strengthening relationships you have within the Estate.
 
 
Updates on projects
 
The Costa Rica Ladies’ Society Club
 
As mentioned in my last blog posting, this club was designed for female residents of the Estate to get to know one another, learn from each other, and share in the fun of being apart of our community. It should be noted that his club is not managed by the Executive Team. Rather it was created by residents, for residents, and is managed by residents. If there are any female residents who have not gotten the invite to join the group, please contact Gigimarie Franizzi or Pasha Felisimo for an invite. The Costa Rica Sims Executive Team and the Board of The Costa Rica Ladies’ Society Club is working together to develop the club’s first event, The St. Valentine’s Ball. The details of the ball will be coming shortly, but in the meantime, be sure to start looking for your dress and your dancing partner for what promises to be a memorable and elegant event.
 
 
Resort & Spa
 
Our resort and spa are nearly complete, with beautiful homes created by our Estate Manager/Top Builder Rawly Rousselot. The resort and spa will be the perfect place to unwind and lounge in a serene setting. If you are interested in renting one of the homes at our resort, please contact Geko Stoop, Resort Owner, or Colleen Braken, Resort Manager, for more information.
 
Land Sales
 
Jaunary saw the Estate lose some residents due to the difficult world economic climate. Additionally, we had some residents decide to downgrade as a means of managing the changes impacting us all. Even with this in the background, we were still able to add additional sims to our Estate, the latest being Alajuela Sureste. This sim is a departure from our traditional beach properties in that it is a bit more wild and jungle-like in its theme. We decided to create this different environment because there are those who want to live in something else besides the beach themed parcels which are popular across the grid. We encourage you to explore this new region which we believe turned out magnificently. Also, we would like to remind you that we still have our land referral program. Look under the Land Referral tab for more info, tell your friends about the Costa Rica Sims, and start earning additional lindens today!
 
Merchant News

The latest creations are blue & gold and scarlet macaws, which are stunningly realistic in their movements and flight. New partnerships
 
Lastly, we are working with other content creators to create new partnerships that will continue to bring the best to our community. Stay posted to our blog for the latest news on who is going to be coming to the Costa Rica Sims.
