On Sunday, December 21, 2008, all were invited to the KMADD Winter Party held on the Costa Rica Sims Event Sim. KMADD sent out teasers for a week before asking all to hold the date and time, but the theme was kept a secret until two days before the event. Then the final invite was sent...the theme was set! Never ones to disappoint, the team from KMADD announced that the theme for this Winter Party was... Traditional Japanese. All went scurrying about to find the perfect outfit for this event, everyone hoping to be unique while fitting the theme!

As the guests arrived, they found themselves surrounded by a frozen winter scene with a Japanese shrine and stage. There was water rushing nearby escaping the freeze. The path led down a steep and long stairway down to the lower village area... and all the guests were encouraged to follow the path.

The party-goers headed down the stairs and walked into a traditional Japanese village surrounding a lake frozen in the cold. DJ Azu was on the ice, spinning great tunes and the celebrants were sliding across the ice … the colors of the costumes floating around them. There was fun conversation, great tunes, friends and good cheer all around as the guests enjoyed the party.

The hosts of the party, Maddox Dupont and Kirk Claymore, were as always gracious and ensuring that all felt welcome. These two, along with Gahum Riptide, Aldero Akami and Eve Petlyakov, put together this venue... concept, design and build. And it looked awesome, realistic and very much representative of the theme!

There were at one point over 90 guests at the party, the Costa Rica Sims Event Sim held its own once again... and supported the party very well. The designs worn by party-goers such as Willamina Fitzgerald, Olyvia Zenovka, Dolly and Lilith Heart, Anessa Stine, Bryston Vanvleck along with many other friends and family of KMADD and residents of Costa Rica Sims were all amazing. Most everyone was able to remain true to the Traditional Japanese theme!

After DJ Azu's set, the guests were treated to a set from DJ Lennyy Beck who specializes in minimal Techno and techhouse music and started off his set with awesome beats!

I unfortunately crashed at this point and my connection was not happy at the time, so I was unable to enjoy the remainder of the party. But I heard that the party continued into the night as KMADD parties are known to do … and that all that were in attendance thoroughly enjoyed. The venue, the music, the friends and the good cheer were just what the holidays ordered!!
