First Annual Winter Ball!

by Sunshine Zhangsun

It is a new era for big parties in the Costa Rica Sims Estate!  The new Events Sim opened this month and the Estate's First Annual Winter Ball was held on December 14, 2008.  What a lovely party it was…the site, the scenery, the venue, the entertainment… all shared with neighbours and friends of the Costa Rica Sims.

As all entered into the sim, the guests were greeted with a beautiful winter scene.  A sign pointing the way to the North Pole and a pathway towards a beautiful building in the distance were first to rezz.  A huge tree decorated with lights stood in the center of a courtyard in front of the building.  There were snowmen by the tree… the signs of winter all about.  And, did you see 'him' flying around the top of that tree?  Yess… Santa Claus and his 8 tiny reindeer circling… waiting for the holiday to arrive.

But wait…something else appeared… why yes, it was two of Santa's helpers next to a Santa's chair just right for a great photo opportunity for our guests.  Ohhh maybe one of those was our Santa of the evening, could it be?  This mini scene was graciously provided and facilitated by Moxie Polano and Maxie McBride from our very own commercial district.  These lovely ladies greeted the guests dressed as elf and Santa, offering photos with Santa or on their own.

The guests continued down the walkway, past the tree, enjoying the winter wonderland surrounding them with snow falling all about and reindeer playing.  As the guests reached the horse-drawn carriage at the foot of the steps, greetings from the Costa Rica Sims Estate Executive Team rang out!  “Happy Holidays!  Welcome to the Winter Ball!”

The guests were encouraged to move up the steps and into the beckoning warmth of the ballroom.  The happy sounds of friends and the musical renderings by Coda Cazalet were heard billowing out from the doors.  The guests stepped in to the ballroom and found more holiday scenery… the stage full of trees, gifts, snow drifts; the buffet tables incredibly laden with food and drink; and a few places to sit when it was time to rest the feet.

The musical choices from Coda were holiday inspired.  Her lovely voice filled the room and encouraged all to dance and when she switched to her saxophone, the enjoyment continued.

A lovely evening was had by all… and when the night came to a close… most were wishing for a continuance.

The new Events sim is indeed a welcome addition to the estate.  Though the sim was nearly full at most times, the performance seemed to hold for most.  I believe that all will be looking forward to the next event and all future events!

The Costa Rica Sims Estate Executive Team would once again like to wish all of our residents, our friends and our merchants a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year!  Thank you to each and every one of you… for you are what makes the estate the success that it is!

'Til next time...
