The weekend of December 6 and 7 was simply jam packed with special events across the grid, most notably the Miss Virtual World Pageant in which Maxie Daviau, Miss Costa Rica, competed for the big title. Sunday seemed to be a day of parties, and Costa Rica's resident DJ, Azu Catteneo, welcomed one and all to visit his new home on Alajuela, just opposite the Arenal Volcano, for a huge house warming bash.
'The CAzu' as it is affectionately known is a modern style home with incredible views of the Volcano from it's upper balcony, and beautifully landscaped grounds leading down to the water. The party got started at 4PM SLT and was soon rocking the house with over 40 people in attendance at any given time and a full sim for most of the 2 hours. The Who's Who of Costa Rica danced alongside Azu's devoted fans and many familiar faces. Despite an unfortunate crash that left the party in silence for a few minutes, the music was a brilliant combination of dance and electro, a nice mix of all Azu's most requested and a taste of his own, soon to be released single. Party highlights included HarMonica Aabye scandalously arriving in the same dress she wore the night before, a visit from the reigning Miss Brazil, Sally Yachvilli. and Miss Sweden, Kate Stockholm, and then some weirdness that saw Blazin Aubret all up in Rawly Rousellot's Bidness... don't ask.
Future plans include regular parties at The CAzu, and if this opening bash was any indication they will be a popular opportunity for the Costa Rica community to come together for some laid back fun. Azu would like to thank all those who visited his home, and wishes to welcome everyone to the next party at The Cazu, date yet to be determined but likely in the not too distant future. Remember, if you are having a little craving for Azu in the mean while, you can visit the www.costaricasims.com website for his very popular 'A Costa Rican Sunset' series or visit Azu’s website, www.azucatteneo.com where you can download his other podcasts and find out where Azu will be spinning over the upcoming holiday season.
