Estate Blog Vamp Aristocrat… Did You Dare Miss It?

What an event! Costa Rica Sims and Scarlet Creative joined forces to present residents and friends with a most spectacular Halloween celebration event! It was indeed, an ‘event to die for’! On Saturday, November 1, 2008, all were invited to gather in Puntarenas 5. The theme was Vamp Aristocrat… and most all attending joined in the spirit presenting awesome interpretations of vampires and other creatures of the night.
The venue for the party was multi-level and required the party-goers to move through various scenes to arrive at the final destination. Upon first arrival, the guests found themselves in an old, dark train station. The tracks appeared to be abandoned and when you looked carefully, you’d see the red eyes of unknown creatures blinking from underneath the raised track. A headless horseman, sometimes in flames, encouraged the guests to follow the track into the darkened tunnel… “to beyond the station and into the tunnel… go towards the light”. The guests also heard, “go freely, but with caution”. With trepidation, party-goers stepped into the dark tunnel and as they walked forward, the light became brighter. One by one, the guests stepped “into the light”.
The guests spiraled down free falling to find themselves landing in a dark, gloomy cemetery. Owls, crickets and the crunching of leaves and branches on the ground all were heard as the guests moved around to explore the cemetery. The door to a mausoleum was open and as the party-goers stepped in to take a look, the floor fell out from under them.
Freefalling once again … and as the motion slowed, all realized that they were bathed in a sea of red… blood splattering, fog with a bloody tint, all around… red everywhere. The sounds of a woman screaming; a headless horseman raring; a noose hanging waiting for death; the signs of worship of another world all were evident in the surroundings. At the altar, a shining chalice was found… “Take the Sacrament”, all were told.
Approaching a cobblestone path, a small bright pumpkin appeared with a request to touch. As each group of visitors touched, a horse drawn carriage magically appeared. Once seated and the instructions given to the driver for the destination…the castle, of course…the carriage proceeded down the path. Coming to a halt, the passengers were alerted that their destination had been reached.
Disembarking, the party-goers were faced with an entry in the dark, the light only from within. Hearing the sounds of music and enjoyment of their kindred spirits billowing out through the doors, all were further drawn to enter. Inside they found the sounds of live musician, Strummer Vultee, entertaining the guests as they spun about the room in their finery. The party was later kicked in to high gear as DJ Azu Catteneo hit the decks, pleasuring the crowd with his electro, trance and club remixes. Notable guests included Kirk Claymore, Maddox Dupont, Gahum Riptide, Anessa Stine, Boe Cortes, Payton Heron, Luca Meilziner, our hosts, Charlotte Bartlett and Giancarlo Takacs and many others. The ballroom was bathed by the light of the moon and the guests appeared to truly enjoy the evening.
During the event, all were asked to vote for the “Best in Costume” … so many busily cam’d about looking at all those in attendance. Votes were sent to Giancarlo, and after tallying, the people had chosen Kirk Claymore as the most Aristocratic Vamp in the crowd! Kirk received $20,000L and a Scarlet Creative home of his choice… along with a consulting session with Charlotte Bartlett. I do think all will agree that Kirk definitely looked the part…Congratulations Kirk!!
After extending his set for a few more mixes, DJ Azu wound the tunes down but the guests seemed hesitant to leave … Did they dare leave the sanctity of the castle, where they found like minded creatures, enjoying the darkness of the night? Alas, the party ended as they all do… and it was heard from most that an enjoyable evening was had by all.
