Quarter 3 Update

Hello Friends,

It has been a very exciting quarter! Many good things have happened to the Estate. Perhaps the greatest accomplishment was exceeding our initial goal of expanding to 35 sims. Now at the end of the quarter, we have grown to 57 sims.

To keep this in perspective, there are currently over 28 million square meters of land for sale around the Grid and many Estates are suffering large losses. To illustrate the current condition in the market, I have included an image of one of the more well known and popular Estates in SL, showcasing the vast amount of properties for sale in yellow.

This is an Estate that was nearing 100% land occupancy over a year ago. Currently, this Estate is reporting a land occupancy rate of 59%. In contrast, our Estate has been able to attract an average of 35 new residents per month, which is more than 1 new resident per day. In addition, land occupancy in the Estate has remained near capacity at 98%, with the Estate today being 3,735,552 square meters in size. This means even as we add additional sims they sell quickly and our overall available land for sale remains small.

We believe the sense of community is the reason The Costa Rica Sims is becoming one of the fast growing Estates in SL. As many of you know, we have residents from 30 different countries in 6 continents calling The Costa Rica Sims their home. When I began looking for land to purchase in SL, I was given some very good advice from someone who has been in-world for a long time. This individual told me that if I was going to invest in buying land, even for my own personal use, I should find a place that would offer me just that, a community. I am now seeing this advice prove its value.

Additionally, this past quarter brought us many beautiful events that have become Estate traditions such as our monthly rezz parties for our residents. We also brought new experiences to residents such as live singers at La Cantina, which continue to this day. Finally, we had our 1st Year Anniversary Celebration, and the crowning of our Miss Costa Rica 2009, Miss Maxie Daviau.

Also, this quarter heralded the arrival of two main stores to our expanded shopping district. Kal Rau, one of the uprising designers in male fashion, and Jeepers Creepers, one of the most well established shoe stores in SL. We will continue to work to bring more main stores to our Estate since we believe it a great asset for our community.

Lastly from this quarter, we now offer guided tours for residents who want to get to know the Estate and the many things that it has to offer. For those interested, please contact our Resident Liaison team lead by Chazzzz Cazalet and Wet Snowdrop.

As for the quarter ahead, we are hoping to see the Estate continue to grow at the rate that it has, although many factors such as the state of the world economy may cause some slowdown. We are looking into bringing three new attractions for our residents and we are working on what promises to be the best party in the Estate, the Halloween party, which we are teaming up our good friend Charlotte Bartlett from Scarlet Creative. And one last thing to discuss, we will be moving the Estate once again in the coming month because we are becoming land locked. Hopefully this time our friends at Linden Lab will give us ample time to secure our china during the move.

Finally, on behalf everyone in our Estate, I would like to welcome the new residents: Arovane, Spring, Avery, Bambi, Myndi, Dex,Eric, Justin, Immaur, Brett, Gabrielle, Jonny, Maxim, Naxzul, Joy, Keetarah, Matt, Niles, Athan, Nikki, OneLook, Paul, Tammy, Eden, Ethaniel, Gage, Isamar, Lexxi, Nym, Raquel, Tanner, Olivia, Hallie, Perion and Zoey and encourage them to attend our events and explore all that we have to offer.

Before I go, I want thank all of you for your loyalty and support in building what many have described as one greatest Estates SL has ever seen.

Love and Light,

GC
