Look who I managed to tie down to a chair for 10 minutes.... our very own Miss Costa Rica Sims 2012 Laetitia Vella.

It has been all go for the stunning Laetitia since winning the title, in fact it was all go leading up to the pageant itself, but now there is the Miss Virtual World title up for grabs at which Laetitia is representing Costa Rica.
She kindly granted me an interview so that we can all get to know her lovely self a bit more.
Laetitia arrived in Second Life in February 2007, brought here whilst looking for a diversion from an extremely lengthy and demanding RL project. Having read about virtual worlds in Time Magazine she chose to investigate SL. She went through the usual newbie teething pains of being utterly clueless and spent some time finding her feet. She instinctively knew that she had arrived somewhere very special.
She enjoyed exploring the grid from the beginning and still does when she has time. She has always been fascinated with the creativity of the artists and craftspeople responsible for everything that we see around us and wear and use. Laetitia told me that trying to build proved a spectacular failure but she supports the work of others by appreciating and purchasing their products. From the beginning she loved fashion and animations but it wasn't until just over a year ago that she started modelling. Her first contest was Miss VR International and after winning it, she decided she had better learn what she was doing! She reckons she is still learning, meeting great people and loving runway work. Other interests include live music, going dancing and a good game of Greedy!
Thank you Laetitia for agreeing to chat to me in amongst everything else you have on your plate.

So Laetitia how did you find out about the Costa Rica Sims?
“Hmmm.... I think last year when the pageant was on, I started hearing about CRS. I came to check out Old Costa Rica at that time, and attended the pageant but gave up after the second sim crash! I remember thinking how beautiful it was and the idea of living in a community really appealed to me. I rented on a single sim for more than 2 years - loved the setting and the landlord was great but I longed to feel part of something bigger. “
And when did you become resident on the CRS?
“I first moved to CRS in January of this year but after a month left briefly. I was so happy to return again in April. I love it here. “
What motivated you to enter the Miss Costa Rica Contest?
“I have pretty much dedicated the last year in SL to developing my skills and reputation as a model and the Miss Costa Rica Contest was a natural extension of those goals. I hoped as well it would give me the chance to meet and make new friends of many Costa Rica residents. So far that has definitely been the case and I look forward to getting to know more people!”

What was the Miss Costa Rica Sims experience like?
“It was really a fantastic experience from beginning to end. All of the contestants are wonderful, funny, kind and talented women and I am so happy to have made their friendships. Reign is amazing; she came up with such fun ideas this year - the burlesque show was brilliant! And she is a great support during the MVW process. And Gian, Kiana, Clyde... all of the CR team... have made this the experience of a lifetime for me. I can't thank everyone enough. “
What do you like most about the Costa Rica Sims?
“I love the community that has been so lovingly created here - there is always something to do, someone to talk with, interests and activities to be shared or discovered for the first time. And I love that this community exists within such a beautiful natural setting with the landscaping, flora and fawna of RL Costa Rica. This is an exceptional place to live thanks to the loving care of Giancarlo and his amazing team. “

Laetitia concluded our interview by saying:
“I'd just like to say how honoured I am to be selected as Miss Costa Rica and to be representing Costa Rica in the upcoming Miss Virtual World and Miss America Latina competitions. And also, how much I'm looking forward to meeting residents of Costa Rica over the next weeks and months. I'm very approachable and would love it if people said hi!”
Laetitia we have everything that will cross, crossed, and wish you all the very best for the Miss Virtual World Contest.
