It has been the policy of the Costa Rica Sims to protect the privacy and security of its residents. Even so, some of the residents have complained in the past about unwanted guests showing up in their homes. Therefore we have created, with the help of other designers, a security orb for those of you who feel the need for greater security. However, devices such as this security orb that contain listening scripts and scanning scripts will contribute to lag. If all homes within a respective sim choose to install a security orb and have it running all the time, the lag produced by the scripts inside the orb will cause noticeable lag for all residents who live there.
Therefore, the Executive Team recommends that the first action to take when you discover an unknown avatar within your home is to politely ask the avatar to leave. If this does not work and the avatar returns, you always have the option to ban him or her from your land. If even after these steps you still need a greater sense of security, then we suggest the installment of the orb.
Finally, we are not responsibile for reducing lag within any sim caused by excessive use of these security orbs. It will be dependent on the residents within that respective sim to reduce their use of the orbs in order to reduce the lag that they cause.
Please remember that the security orbs are meant to ONLY SECURE YOUR HOME, NOT YOUR ENTIRE PROPERTY. One of the hallmarks of our Estate is that residents are free to fly, sail, horseback ride, surf, walk, etc...through properties without ban lines or security ejections. To facilitate securing only your home, we have included a meter so that you can measure your home. Remember to position yourself in the center of your home.
If we discover that a security orb has been set to protect and entire parcel and in doing so it ejects other avatars who are walking, sailing, riding, flying, etc... or if it interferes with your neighbors being able to gain access to their parcels, your orb will be immediately removed and we will add a L$2,000 fine to your next tier payment.
