Meet N' Greet CR Sims New Estate Manager

At home with Dolci Woodget and Clay Ellison

Dolci Woodget is a woman who knows people. Having formerly managed the 46+ estates of Sailor's Cove, which is part of the famous Blake Sea and United Sailing Sims, she has sailed into Costa Rica ready to assume her new role as Estate Manager along with Jarrod Beck.

Three years ago, Dolci came to Second Life™ like many, through word of mouth of a friend. She could not wrap her head around the concept so she signed up and logged on to see for herself. What she found amazed her.

“I just could not comprehend the idea so I had to come looking. I joined up, met my friend inworld and he gave me a tour and showed me what he was talking about.”

Exploring and learning about Second Life™ came naturally for Dolci who has creativity leaking out of her pores. She's a fast learner and loves to help others empower themselves with knowledge. Completely by accident she fell into Estate Management.

“May of 08, my dear friend Marco had met someone who had bought her first island and she wanted to build a big club on it. He introduced us and we hit it off. Originally I was just going to help build on her land but she had no idea what to do with the estate tools. I am a very fast learner and I love to help people so she gave me estate rights. I learned all the neat little buttons, taught her how to set up her land. Next thing I know she wanted me to manage the entire thing including the dance club!”

Sadly the owner had to leave Second Life™ after six months so Dolci searched for a new home. Having her heart set on a homestead, she found one and came across Sailor's Cove.

“The estate owner greeted us and while chatting, it came out that I'd done some managing before. Months later, the owner asked me to help out.”

In addition to her estate management duties, she also had her hands full creating. Dolci met her partner Clay Ellison through a mutual friend. After finding they had much in common, the two started to build together with Clay teaching and Dolci quickly soaking up everything he showed her. They own *Ellison Designs* and Dolci! where they make boats, cars, bikes, furniture and homes.

The boats are nothing short of amazing. Made with love and you will know this is true when you lay eyes on these magnifice nt builds accurate in scale to their real life counterparts. The largest of which is the Endeavour. There is only one other in-world and the very first was auctioned off at Relay for Life last year for 75,000L. My heart was taken though by the Trivia, a remake of the  1930's J'Class boats. His skill is quite apparent and so it is no surprise that Dolci was a bit scared of meeting him at first.

“Clay intimidated the heck out of me when we met. I was so shy to even talk to him really that I dumped him from my friends list! He was a master builder and I was a shy little newbie, really.”

Clay shares his remembrance. “I had been building custom SL homes for people. I saw her and thought she was the cutest avie in Second Life. She was a good fast learner.”

Dolci chuckles at the memory. “One night, I made up an excuse to IM him with a building question and he was at a house he was building and invited me over to come see. We got to chatting away and he broke out the game Truth or Dare. We actually answered everything truthfully which really struck me as something special.”  That was in August 2007 and they've been inseparable ever since.

I stop her before they can get to the Dare bits. Anyway! Suffice to say they hit it off magnificently. As for Costa Rica, Dolci can only say she has loved it since she first saw it. She's followed the blog and had come several times to check it out since its inception. Map hopping one day with her friend landed her here once again.

“My friend Marco and I landed on this tiny piece, which was culture shock for us now. It was near the volcano. Marco and I stood there for a long time talking and looking around us. I wasn't *really* land shopping, more like window shopping. Well...guess who shows up to greet us?”

After being somewhat starstruck at meeting our GianCarlo, it wasn't long before she purchased some land. Starting to settle in, Dolci felt that Costa Rica was a place that she could really get into.

“He is so nice to talk to and we've chatted about all kinds of topics already. My head is still spinning with everything. But I am so... excited is such a poor word really.”

Dolci has a clear idea of what she wants to achieve here and what Costa Rica residents can expect from her.

“My forte is customer service. I take it very seriously about being a nice person and quick responses. I like to make people feel respected and important. I think that's very important to treat people well, in both worlds so at the very least, I come running and help. If I can't solve the problem right away myself, I will stay on it until it gets done.”

So no need to feel silly when you drop that poseball in the floor or under your sandy beach, or just can't quite get that new fangled SL television to work?

“Not at all. I have a kind of philosophy. It's the little things that make me happy and it's the little things that mean so much so most people too. I don't believe in coincidences so I'm where I'm supposed to be.”

Feels like a perfect fit to me. Dolci and Clay have said they'd like to throw a big party at their sim to get to know all the residents. I'm catching the whiff of barbeque! I'll bring the Coronas! You'll be amazed by their build, even though they are still settling in, it already exudes a welcoming atmosphere and warm, positive energy.

“Good, I love to entertain!”

Party! \o/

peace & love,

Keshi
