In conjunction with the Costa Rica Surf Team we are putting together some free surf lessons with some of the top pro surfers in SL. The first lesson is slated for this Thursday, May 8th at 5pm SLT to last an hour. Our instructors will be Craig Stallion and Christine Daffodil of the SLSA (Second Life Surfing Association). Craig has been surfing in real life since childhood and now that he lives in a state that isn't costal he has trasferred his passion for surfing to SL. He began surfing here in early 2007 and quickly found a home as a member of SL pro surf team, the Misfits. He quickly rose through the ranks of the pro surfers in SL to finish last season in third place. He was elected as a director of the SLSA in 2007 and inducted into the SLSA Hall of Fame in 2008. After serving his term as SLSA Director, Craig is now back on the SL pro surfing circuit finishing thirs at his first contest this season. Christine is a mainland transplant in Hawaii who is an avid surf watcher. She started suring in SL in early 2007 and joined the Misfits the day before her first surfing contest. She finished last season ranked 10th and so far this season she is ranked 7th. Who wouldn't want an opportunity to learn how to surf from the best of the best in the SL pro circuit?
Anyone who is curious about how to surf the waves here in Costa Rica is welcome to attend. You do not have to be a member of the Costa Rica Surf Team in order to participate. Extra surfboards will be available for those who do not own one. Please RSVP to Felicity Sneerwell or Jac Mornington if you are planning on attending. If there is a good response to this we will be offering continuing lessons.
