Hola mis amigos,

So we started the new year at full charge. Linden Lab®, just released the "2009 End of Year Second Life Economy Wrap up (including Q4 Economy in Detail)." Although some figures don't make any sense it is still a nice read if you have nothing better to do. Click here if you want to read it.

As we enter the month of love, it is time to recap all the things that went on within our estate in the month of January.

New Member Of The Executive Team

Fly Littlebird joins the Executive Team as the new estate photographer. She has already started taking photos of our residents, that you can see at our Flickr® page. If you are a new resident and don't have your photo, please contact her to make an appointment.

Land Sales

In January, we added three new residential regions to our estate. Bahia Matapalo, a homestead region was added at the beginning of the month and it sold in a matter of hours. Playa Baru, a full prim region, was also added at the beginning of the month as well and it was sold by January 10th. Finally, Playa Potrero another homestead region was added the in the final days of the month, two of its three parcels were sold even before the sim was on the map and the last one just a couple of days after. We close January with our estate at 99.6% occupancy, this is quite an accomplishment since many estates are reporting massive vacancies.

Events

Building Classes

We started January with our 2010 building classes every Saturday.  Residents will learn how to create various objects including furniture and even a house! The course will run for 6 weeks, ending February 6th and the intermediate course will start February 20th. If you want to register for the second leg of the course, please contact our talented Executive Jimi Xi.

Costa Rica Designers Showcase: Azul Featuring Caithlin Carter Designs

What a fantastic show! Really great to see two of the most celebrated designers featured in one show. I have to personally thank Clyde Saunders for introducing me to the lovely Mami Jewell, owner and designer of Azul. As many of you Caithlin Carter, owner and designer of CCD, is the creator of the official crown and jewels for the Miss Costa Rica Sims Pageant.

Big kudos to our Costa Rica Sims Productions team, Clyde Saunders, Director, our hostess Samantha Ohrberg and our beautiful models Alexia Speizer, Florentine Rau, Nisa Constantine, Millie Gears & TraLove Pinazzo for another fantastic show. Rezz Party

Our January babies were treated to a fabulous afternoon at the Costa Rica Ladies' Society Botanical Garden. Our very own DJ Azu provided the hot and latest tunes around the grid. Ancient Forces - Timeless Practices

In the world that we live today, where we are constantly running in order to just keep up, we often forget the importance of the body-mind-spirit connection and maintaining balance in order to live a healthy and prosperous life. Many people use Second Life® to escape the daily stress we all have to deal with in our regular lives. We come here to socialize, shop, dance, and create relationships. Yet at the end, we can mimick here all the things we are trying to escape in real life, thereby creating even more stress for ourselves.

Starting February 6th, 2010 at 2:00 PM SLT, and every Saturday, we will have an estate event that I truly believe will help many find the right balance between the body-mind-spirit, brought to you by one of our residents, Karma Senizen.

Costa Rica Ladies' Society 2nd Annual Valentine's Ball

Our beautiful ladies will bring us their 2nd annual Valentine's Ball which is a Black Tie & Red Gown affair. This year the ball will be hosted at the Costa Rica Ladies' Society Botanical Gardens at 12:00 Noon SLT on Saturday, February 13th 2010 and the beautiful voice of Miss Coda Cazalet will set the mood.

The search begins again to find our new Mr. Costa Rica Sims. Clyde Saunders, Director of Costa Rica Sims Productions, will be in charge of the full production of the pageant just like last year.

Another content creator also opened a store at our commercial district. Hollywood Gestures is perhaps the most famous gestures brand in all SL™, and makers of the "Hola" I use all the time. Owner Blazin Aubret as crazy as she is JK, has been a huge supporter of the Costa Rica Sims project since the early days, so I cannot be more happy to have her as part of our growing family.
